BBC’s Sherlock is a modern take on the classic clever detective Sherlock Holmes created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and moulded into modern day era Sherlock by Mark Gatiss & Steven Moffat (who also plays role of Sherlock’s Big Brother).
This series single handedly launched individual careers of Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) & Martin Freeman (Dr. Watson).

Series starts with an explosive episode of how Sherlock and Watson meet each other for sharing a flat on 221B Baker Street.
When Sherlock first meets Watson, his first words were “Afghanistan or Iraq?”. Watson is dumbfounded on hearing this. Later in the episode when Sherlock explains on how he deduced Watson of being an army veteran is when our minds are blown by a concept which Sherlock later calls as “The Science of Deduction”.
Modern technologies are used throughout in this series such as Text messages & GPS to further the plot which tells us the creativeness of the writers of this series.
All episodes will give you an insight of how Sherlock observes seemingly small insignificant things ignored by the general audience to get the big picture.
When Sherlock says “You see, but you don’t observe” is the time you know that a lot of folks missed so many key connecting points.

Each individual episodes lasts about 90 mins so you can consider watching 1 episode every day (sort of watching a movie). But I can assure you that once you start, you won’t stop.
Every episode is an individual case but not an anthology. So there is a continuation of a story-line and it needs to be seen in a linear manner.

One of my best character is Sherlock’s archenemy — Jim Moriarty played by Andrew Scott. Andrew is so good in playing this character that it really does seem that Sherlock is not that invincible and can have an intellectually challenging character.
In one of the episodes, we do see that Sherlock also has a sister who is considered more intelligent than Sherlock and is so dangerous that she needed to be locked up far far away.

Sadly there is no news after last series i.e. Season 4 as the plans are in place for a 5th season but both actor’s availability is an issue for the producers.
So the show isn’t cancelled but neither is renewed.

Verdict: 9.7/10 and a 100% “WATCH” recommendation for this mind blowing series.
